Zero Waste Lab

 

The Zero Waste Lab is equipped with a robotic arm and recycling facilities. Citizens can bring their plastic waste, design custom urban furniture and get actively involved in the recycling process. The lab closes the plastic waste loop with advanced technologies at local level.

For 30 days, the citizens of Thessaloniki could enjoy the waterfront of the city with a series of street furniture that was made from household plastic waste and robotic 3D printing.

Environmental Impact

 

For the furniture of the first Print Your City square, we recycled 800 kilos of plastic waste, which equates to the same amount produced by 3 family households in Greece.

More than 2.900 citizens voted where and how they wanted to see the new furniture of Thessaloniki About 800 kilos of plastic waste was recycled and printed with 3D printing.

Online Customization Platform

 

Here, anyone can customize and submit their own furniture design and get to know the equivalent amount of plastic that needs to be recycled. In this way, the public space develops sustainably by accommodating the demand for plastic from local resources.
